At AWS, a Frontend Engineer’s job goes well beyond frontend –and also can have a big impact on many, very real customers who might have very different use cases. Every day brings new challenges and learnings.

As a startup incubator, Next Big Thing brought me the chance to get involved in a variety of innovative projects across the whole development cycle —shaping products from the earliest prototyping phases all the way to production.

More than 7 years developing high fidelity prototypes for clients big and small, uncluding Siemens, Bosch, Deutsche Telekom, and leading companies in the German automotive industry, with a strong focus on a user-centric design process.

One of my main tasks at Content Mind was to take care of the visual layer of a Plone-based health information portal.

The most fun part was the development of complex and visually rich web apps such as a quiz game and a nutrition tracking app.

Basically, I took care of the implementation of page layouts according to PSD-based documents for various clients. Also some minor photo editing.

I developed various web-based and desktop applications for a dental clinic team to improve their workflows in their daily tasks.

My first paid work as a developer was a WordPress-based website for a startup. I took care of both design and development and wrote a custom theme from scratch.
